Radixx Discusses Airline Retail Strategies at Award Winning Aviation Conference

Posted September 25, 2018

September 25, 2018, Orlando, Florida – Radixx International, market leader in airline technology solutions, attended the annual Global Aviation Festival at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London on September 5-6, 2018. Chief Product Officer, Mike Barrera, was invited to discuss the vital role airline technology solutions play in a retail focused airline strategy. The interview was titled “Do You Have the Ingredients for a Successful Retail Transformation?”.

Interviewed by Daniel Friedli, Travel in Motion GmBH, in response to evolving passenger travel expectations, Mr. Barrera stated:

“An airline must realize that in a changing market, status quo is unacceptable. To transform your airline’s business model, the foremost ingredient is technology alignment with the business.”

During the interview, Mr. Barrera shared a case study describing a traditional airline with over 30 GDS connections who, by implementing the Radixx solutions, was able to increase revenue by scaling back their costly GDS connections. Radixx ezyCommerce allowed the airline to reduce distribution costs by moving many of their bookings into the direct IBE channel. The Radixx Res system’s unique retailing capabilities and ability to scale to accommodate growth, allow the airline to operate efficiently and maximize their revenue potential at multiple points during the customer journey. Additionally, the airline plans to leverage Radixx Go for the system’s innovative retailing and mobile solutions at the airport, further lowering counter space cost and increasing operational efficiency. Without the support of the robust Radixx solutions, such a retail transformation would not have been possible.

Closing out the interview, Mr. Barrera stated:

“The key for an effective retailing airline is to offer a straightforward and efficient shopping experience with intuitive decision making that doesn’t require thinking about the technology when making choices.”

Radixx award winning solutions support all business models and cater to the needs of hybrid, ultra-low cost, and traditional airlines, including the support of GDS distribution.
